Why did you secretly purchase my name ? (05/11/09 5:08pm)
I'm not interested in any of the potential legalities. You profess to be in favor of open information on issues and posting everyone's comments fairly and unbiased on this site. So why did you purchase my name, was it so that in the future, I could not have my own convenient website on which to post my opinions. I should not have to resort to purchasing .net, .gov, org, or any other sites to protect the usage of my name. There is no reason you should have purchased and are still holding my name!$*^& Now post THIS on your front page. Judy Iradi

Judy,
I believe my statement regarding this matter is very clear, in particular the part about - if it was so important, then why didn't you bother to purchase the .com domain extension a long time ago? I own close to 100 domain names with various web extensions (.com, .biz, etc.). You can still have a domain name which incorporates Judy and Iradi by simply inserting a dash between the first and last names www.judy-iradi.com. I actually had to do that with my company way back in 1998 because someone had already taken it without the dash. I checked with Network Solutions and www.judy-iradi.com is available. The same solution would apply to Len Fariello
I'm really not interested in getting into a protracted back and forth over this as there will be no end to it and certainly not one that you will be happy with.
The domain registration for judyiradi.com expires in August of 2009 and I will revisit my registration status at that time.
Finally, the richest man on the planet, Bill Gates does not even own his own domain name. Go ahead and type www.billgates.com and you'll see what I mean.

Tom~ Hats off to you! You are doing an amazing job with MyHanoverTownship.com. I wonder how long it will be before Judy, Len or George for the matter try to tell people not to use this site. Again I just want to thank you for what you do by running this site. Trisha L. Olsen (05/12/09 7:34pm) REPLY
Sorry, this whole episode sounds downright shady. There cannot be a good reason for your buying their domain names, because if there was, you would posted a plausible explanation by now.
I have nothing to hide. I own the domains which is perfectly legal, I am not denying it, nor does the purchase of any domain name require prior approval if it happens to be someone's legal name or a variation of it. I have no plans on selling them and never did. I certainly do not have to justify my intent to you or anyone else for that matter.
The facts are that Judy Iradi had the domain in 2001 and she registered it for a period of 1- year. Rather than pay the modest annual fee of approximately $10, she elected let it lapse. Between then and now, she ran for office twice and apparently did not think it important enough to have that domain name or for that matter any type of website at all! Did she expect the domain name to simply sit there and wait for her decision to revisit it? You don't own a domain name simply because is resemble your name and even if that were the case, what would happen to a domain name when there are multiple individuals with the same surname?
In the case of Lenny Fariello, The last time he owned the .com domain name was back in 2003 and he let it lapse and didn't bother to renew it in 2006 when he ran again!. You can ask him why he didn't purchase it in 2006 if it was so crucial for hime to use for communication purposes. Or maybe he didn't want to spend the $10 per year. What if another Len Fariello registered the name, what would he be crying about then?
In February of 2009, I had notified Lenny Fariello by mail that I was assuming the sponsorship of MyHanoverTownship.com and extended an open invitation for him and the other members of the committee to use the site as they saw fit. I created sections on the site for each of the committee members and promoted those sections to the public with the intent to allow open access to all views. Other than Judy Iradi, no one else on the committee has chosen to use the site for that purpose, unless of course they are doing so under some fictitious ID. At least Judy has the sense of conviction and courage to speak for herself!
All of the technical and historical domain information shown above is based on registration records contained in the ICAN database, which is the international registration organization responsible for web domain names, and the data provided is a factual representation of the domain name registration history.
Of course if you don't want the facts then you can choose to believe what you wish.
As far as you characterization of my domain registration process as being shady, you are in fact the one that has chosen to use CK as you identification as opposed to your real name - what are you afraid of other than not wanting to be associated or accountable for your comments.
Tom, Bill Gates is a common name just like John Sheridan. John could not use his name this year (as his website name) because another John Sheridan purchased the name first. And Really, you may own hundreds of domain names, but how many of them are names of political adversaries in Hanover Township. You made a political mistake now do the right thing and give up ownership of my name before I need to use it next spring. Unless of course you are trying to make it harder for me to conveniently exercise MY 1st amendment rights on the internet. Thank you, Judy Iradi (05/13/09 2:17pm) REPLY
Don't accuse me of violating your first amendment rights - I have not. You
don't have a first amendment right to a domain name. Domain names registrations
are issued on a first-come basis. You had the domain name and for whatever
reason did not elect to renew it. If you want to categorize this as a political
mistake is would by yours, not mine.
As I pointed out, you can use separate the first and last name with a hyphen and
people will find you. There is no political upside or downside to me
as I have stated repeatedly that I do not have any desire to run for elected
office and that would include a challenge by me for your seat.
I'm not trying to be coy with you but I was sincere in my offer to all the
committee members to use MyHanoverTownship.com when I made it back in March
2009. It was the people most closely associated with your side of the
political spectrum that decided not to contribute content to the site despite
the fact that they had used the site extensively in the past. The offer
for uncensored and open access within the established guidelines still stands.
I do not intend to make any further comments on the matter of domain names
other than to refer to people to my previous statements.
I did not accuse you of violating my 1st amendment rights, I said "you are trying to make it harder for me to conveniently exercise MY 1st amendment rights on the internet".
If I decide to run for re-election, I will run on my record and if people are interested, even though you have made it harder, they will find my website. And after all, deeds speak louder than words so I may not even need a website. unfortunately, people will remember your deed. Judy Iradi (05/13/09 7:12pm) REPLY
I misread you post - sorry.
You 100% are correct in that your record and following is far more important than any website name. By the way, there is no downside to registering another name. You can have many sites (domain names) that do not have any content at all and simply have your internet provider point to the site that has internet content. That is a very common practice and another way of getting more traffic to a site.
You don't owe anyone an explanation.......so don't give one. Let your readers decide for themselves why you took such action. So far your "facts" are.........you did it because you legally could.
My explanation for not using my real name? Retribution. Pure and simple. And if you think I (or any of the many others who choose not to use their real names) have nothing to be concerned about it that regard, you are quite naive........especially those of us who aren't in lock step with your favored (current and former) political candidates. I am but one homeowner in the Town posting my opinions. I am not trying to sabotage anyone's candidacy with nefarious actions.

Stop Micro Managing!
I have been reading the posts on this web site and have really tried not to respond to the sponsor’s personal rhetoric that is displayed on a daily basis. But, enough is enough! When the new sponsor took control of this web site he indicated that any posts by the members of the township committee would be welcomed and given fair treatment. One would think that with this promise, comments would be forthcoming from the town council, as well as from the general public, with an active give and take dialogue as it did with the previous sponsor. But since the “new” sponsor took over this site he has created so many categories and sub-categories that the site has become tortuous to use. Yes, he does post comments and letters about the forthcoming primary election; and he also has no problem with personally micro managing every single post. He has only positive, supportive comments regarding any posts relating to John Ferramosca’s campaign and always tears apart and negatively criticizes any posts that favor Len Fariello. Not biased, my foot! No wonder Fariello keeps clear of this site. The sponsor also chastises the public for using multiple ID’s and now, as a last straw, threatens a poster with “In the future, please sign your posts with your either your real name or your username - CK or they will not be posted” (under Elected Officials). Is this threat because CK disagrees with the sponsor and the sponsor does not like being put in a position of having to defend himself for his “cyber squatting” on someone else’s domain name. In other words, “do it my way, or no way” yeah right, the sponsor is being fair to all, but only if you agree with him! I bet this doesn’t get posted! Wyona

CK....not sure what type of retribution you are worried about...its not like if you name is shown your taxes will be raised or you will be run out of town. You talk about the first amendment rights, well you have them and so therefore you can say whatever you please and sign it...I'm sure no one will come knocking on your door.

First of all, I have never mentioned First Amendment Rights here on this site - you must have me confused with another.
I won't waste my time any further because the Sponsor of this board won't even post this because he wants to silence me. I just wish that when he advertises this site, he's more honest about what it really is.
BTW, Kudos to the Editor of the Hanover Eagle!!

It's posted and I don't have a problem with anything you have written in the past or anything in the future as long as it is within the site guidelines.
Kudos to the Editor of the Hanover Eagle? - you have a right to feel that way of course but...
The editor of the Eagle has his own well known issues with editorial and journalistic credibility. He is upset with me because I insisted that he print my full response. I did that because he is notorious for not being factually accurate and for misrepresenting the views of others that he might not agree with. There was plenty of print space available as well so he could have easily accommodated my response.
I actually don't have a problem with his comments, but remember, his other job is to make sure the Eagle stays in business by selling as many copies of the paper as possible.
In his editorial, Mr. Lent made the decision to go well beyond the subject matter by bringing up things from the past and even in that attempt he could get his facts correct. To bring up water-boarding and torturing in the editorial is probably the best example of this - Forcing someone to read his articles might actually be more effective than water-boarding so maybe I'll pass that on to the CIA. Seriously, as far as the Editorial goes I would have expected no less from him.
Thank you for writing into the site and signing your post with CK. Please continue to use the site as you see fit.
