Outdoor seating at restaurants - MWIZZY (05/20/09 12:23pm)
I'm curious if anyone knows why the restaurants in town are not allowed to have outdoor seating? With the weather getting warmer, it would be nice to be able to sit outside for lunch or dinner.

Outdoor Dining is Permitted in Hanover Township
Given the increased popularity of Outdoor Dining, the Planning Board in May of 2005 introduced an ordinance (166-119.5 -12-2005) to permit outdoor dining at restaurants in our Town. The goal was to allow restaurants to offer the outdoor dining experience for guests while conforming to the character of our community and safety regulations. Highlights are as follows:
1. Outdoor seating is allowed in the front of the restaurant to avoid any potential disturbance to neighboring properties behind the restaurant.
2. Seating areas would be screened by plantings or fencing to create a dining area for the enjoyment of guests.
3. Careful attention was given to developing guidelines regulating use of lighting, and music in an effort to balance the enjoyment of the outdoor diners while protecting the rights of adjoining residential neighbors.

Okay, I have been anticipating the return of the sun and looking for a place that actually has outdoor seating. I haven't found any. Does anyone know of any restaurant in Hanover that has outdoor seating?
