Judy, I do agree with you in that the economic effect to the taxpayers should be (should have been) laid out in a simple and easily understood manner. I wasn't at the meeting and when I went to view it on YouTube (Sunday) it wasn't yet published. It is my understanding from what I have learned that the presentation was lacking in detail which is unfortunate and not the way it should have been.
I guess the 4-minute rule is what it is, but of course the Chair (Mayor) is in charge and can deviate. Again, I didn't view the meeting but I have no reason to believe your account is inaccurate. Mayor Sheridan should not have cut off Ron Francioli, the former mayor and a person that probably knows more about budget issues than all of the committee combined (no insult to you intended).
As you know, the governing process often involves different approaches to the same problem or challenge. I know that you are a fiscally conservative individual and that you would support or at least entertain any initiative that could potentially reduce taxes with sacrificing services.
The viability of the current proposal is unclear because the econoomic impact has not yet been defined. I would have to take a wait & see attitude.
