March 4 committee meeting video - merrillronald12

(03/15/10 12:50am)

If you go to this site http://www.hanovertownship.com/YouTube/YT_3_4_10.htm you will find the video of the March 4 meeting.

It's painful to listen to the mayor talk about his "management experience and skills" and his desire to "lead in the most responsible, positive and  straightforward manner as is humanly possible, and hear him say such things as "I know and some on the committee know that you want us to govern responsibly" on the one hand while he carps about such things as not having  "friends or relatives that work in the newspaper business" and the "negative tone" of the comments being made by members of the public in the newspapers and on the internet.

It was even more painful to hear him say the comments were "distortions, ambiguities, misleading information" and that the fact they were being "circulated is disturbing."  Just "some" know that we want them to govern responsibly? What?!  Did he really say this?

As you can see, after starting off the meeting by talking about management experience and skills in the most lofty terms, the meeting went steadily downhill from there. I think that before this committee takes on such complex tasks as straightening out other town organizations, they might better get their act together beforehand. And please believe me when I say that I m trying to be as positive in these comments as I possibly can, but what you see on this video deliver the message much better than I can.

I too watched the meeting of March 4th and agree with you. I was also appalled at the demeaning and rude manner in which Mayor Sheridan treated Committeewoman Iradi and others. I thought they were equally elected with equal authority. Mayor Sheridan said politics were not involved with their decision to merge the departments. In my opinion, he made it political when he nastily made the comment " that was a different administration with a different MAJORITY”. I don't like to see a committee person (or anyone else) govern with disrespect, rudeness, intimidation and condescending methods.

I also could not understand why Mr. Ferramosca could not answer a direct question involving the actual numbers to substantiate his comments. All he could do was repeat what he had read into the record, over and over again.

Mayor Sheridan also used the "four minute rule" to have former Mayor Francioli leave the podium, very disrespectful of someone who has more knowledge then the “new majority” put together. To say the least I am very dissatisfied with Mayor Sheridan's lack of decorum.
