MyHanoverTownship.com is once again reiterating it's commitment to providing equal site access to all residents and elected officials. Signed posts are preferred and in the absence of a name, the userid will be used.
During the last primary cycle, the site was active in regard to certain issues that were important to various interests within the community. I am refraining from using the term "Special Interests" because that was never the case. One group's interest may in fact be irrelevant to some or even in contrary to anothers but all sides deserve to have a say or at the very least express their views without ridicule.
The purpose of this site is not to replace one's responsibility to participate in the legal and defined processes of government such as going to a public meeting and voicing your opinion or asking a question. The dialog on this site, when it occurs between an elected official and our residents should also not be considered an official form of communications. However, MyHanoverTownship.com will continue to provide the easiest and most efficient way for the residents to voice their concerns between each other and when necessary, to our elected officials.
I am aware that certain people choseearly on to "stay away" from this site as a result of my sponsorship and that is certainly their perogative. This is certainly not a "for-profit" endeavor on my part and my primary goal is to give the average "Jane or Joe" the ability to voice their opinion - something that is virtually impossible to do within the print-media. I've been a critic of the local news media and it's blatant past practices of bias and inaccuracies and will continue in to counterpoint their efforts by simply allowing the other side to be heard.
Each person has to decide whether or not they belive MyHanoverTownship.com is the appropriate vehicle for communications and I am certainly not going to "beg" anyone, including our elected officials, to participate in the topics posted on this site.
The site will continue to offer un-censored and equal access to all - period!
