FRANCIOLI RESPONDS TO RICHARD DUNNE'S LETTER.

Full Description:

Richard Dunne’s recent post on myhanovertownship.com, as the Democratic candidate in the race for Hanover Township Committee in this November’s general election takes an early start and immediately shows him to be un-informed.

Candidate Dunne states the June primary campaign I waged was a negative one. He further claims I attacked my opponent and offered no solutions to Hanover’s current economic issues. Clearly Mr. Dunne has not read my campaign messages, or the opposition’s slanderous flyers attempting to discredit me.  My campaign, as all ten of my campaigns, stayed on a positive tact, only leaving when my 27 year record as mayor and committeeman was attacked with misstatements and falsehoods. My message focused on what had been accomplished in my administration and what we are now doing to move Hanover forward.

The creation and implementation of the newly formed Hanover Township Economic Development Advisory Committee, that I chair, is comprised of captains of industry as well as an executive officer of Atlantic Health*, the same organization that Mr. Dunne suggests he would solicit for Hanover.

We are making excellent progress reaching out to prospects that already hold planning board approvals and we have been successful in generating re-introductions before our planning board.  As well, we are maintaining a face-to-face dialog with executives of the Red Bulls and already have new concepts submitted for many of the 20 sites we have identified for future re-development here in Hanover. All this as an organized team of professionals from our mayor on down with a high focus on marketing Hanover to major brokers and developers. Mr. Dunne suggests he could do this all himself.

Alcatel / Lucent is foremost in our planning. Over five qualified, highly financed suitors are currently in negotiations with Hanover and Alcatel and we are pressing for the right, but expedient resolution for this, our number one tax payer.

Mr. Dunne has not been seen at many committee meetings nor has he made any attempts to sit in on planning board hearings or economic development committee sessions to acquaint him with what the township is proactively doing to encourage new rateables. Of the few meetings Mr. Dunne did speak at, he indicated, on the record, some of his solutions included bonding - debt that Hanover never wants to incur.

If the reports I have been getting from sports parents are correct, Mr. Dunne’s abrasive attitude as a little league coach won him a suspension.- quite a sportsmanlike accomplishment and a great role model for our children.

Choice is what makes good governments and choice is what Hanover voters have in this general election. A liberal democrat in Richard Dunne or a conservative republican in Ron Francioli and Ken Schleifer. I am certain, as the fall campaign gears up you will have ample information to make that choice in November.

*Atlantic Health took into consideration the Alcatel / Lucent property
