Is it true that Hanover Police is doing away with their dispatchers?
Full Description:
Rumor has it that the Township Council is doing away with police department dispach center to save money by using the County Communication Center. Is this true or has someone started some useless scuttlebut? Are the town fathers thinking about saving money or saving lives if this is true? Friends of mine who are cops in other towns have had their dispatch services now gone through the county and would rather have their own dispatchers back. Countless errors have been done by the county with recently, a county dispatcher transfering a house fire call that was told to the dispatcher to be in Long Valley (which Morris County Communication Center dispatches for) sent over 30 miles away to Long Hill. I know if my family was trapped inside that burning house, I'd want the fire department there yesterday, not switched to a wrong town. Hopefully this is only a rumor but I hope we can all sleep safe knowing we have hometown people sending our police, fire, and ambulance to the right location not someone who is miles away and does not know our town.
